Implementing CPQ into D365 Sales to Improve Quotations and Sales

What is CPQ?

CPQ stands for Configure, Price, Quote.

It is a module that can enhance Dynamics 365 Sales, (which in turn is part of the Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement suite). Specifically CPQ is a tool designed for sales teams to provide quick and accurate product options and prices.

It is particularly used to generate quotes for products and services that have a lot of feature options. The software is rules-based and can be customized to address multiple variables.

Case Study – Ricoh

Ricoh is a leading global provider of business technology and digital services, with sales, support, production, research, and development operations in more than 200 countries and over 90,000 employees worldwide.

Given the volume of sales quotes Ricoh deals with daily, streamlining and simplifying the processes for the sales team was considered as offering a potential advantage to company’s productivity and sales. Ricoh therefore decided to implement a CPQ solution within the D365 Sales module for the 12 subsidiaries that carry out commercial actions throughout Latin America.

Dynamo began work in February 2022 to implement the CPQ module for Ricoh across LatAm. The solution chosen was Experlogix CPQ.  Ricoh, Dynamo and Experlogix worked together during the implementation project.

Implementing the solution simultaneously for 12 countries posed quite a challenge as all companies were implementing D365 Sales at the same time, meaning everything was required to go-live together on the same target date.

Fortunately, due to Dynamo’s long experience with Ricoh in LatAm, the CPQ implementation went live across all 12 countries in February 2023, meeting deadlines and goals successfully.

Ricoh have subsequently been enjoying a much quicker and more effective quotation and sales process.
